The Get Out of Town Tour Explore Dundee Creek as a remarkably serene and beautiful body of water. Visit a heron, watch for eagles, check out the graceful footbridge at Marshy Point Nature Center, enjoy the interplay of cloud formations, a waterfront forest, and tall stands of stately marsh grasses. Although the naturalist who guides this tour will answer your questions, the intent here mainly is for you to relax and enjoy the ride.
Saturday, June 20th 2-4pm

The Wildlife Tour
Osprey, bluebirds, yellow perch, cattails, painted turtles, butterflies, fox and muskrats–these and other intriguing creatures inhabit Dundee Creek. Some show themselves readily; others are more elusive and mysterious. And they are all interconnected. Let an experienced naturalist help you uncover these wonders and enrich your personal connection to one of Maryland’s pristine habitats.
Sunday, June 14th 2-4pm

The Photographer’s Tour
Osprey, mergansers, ducks, old pilings, weathered docks, a boat house, a variety of water craft, small tributaries and open shorelines–what an extraordinary array of subjects for photographers at all skill levels. You bring the camera; and Erin Travis, an accomplished and versatile photographer, will you get up close and personal with some of nature’s loveliest moments. Erin’s work can be seen at www.erintravis.com. Sunday, June 28th 10am-noon

The Sketch Pad Tour
Yes, there are swans in Dundee Creek, and geese, and a lovely footbridge, and a boathouse sitting up on pilings, and several duck blinds half hidden in the phragmites. The shoreline trees are often dramatic, and the shoreline reflections, depending on weather, are quite charming. From a kayak, you get some quite unusual perspectives. From your naturalist guide, who happens also to be a practicing artist, you will get expert advice!
Sunday, June 28th 2-4pm

The Birders’ Tour
. Wood ducks, terns, eagles, blue herons, warblers, red-wing blackbirds–the list goes on. An extraordinary number of avian species inhabit Dundee Creek, skimming the waters, diving for fish, calling from the marshes, and soaring in the skies. The migratory patterns bring thousands of ducks and geese to the Creek each year.

Migration Tour
The old timers say that once upon a time, there were so many ducks and geese on Dundee Creek that you could cross it walking on their backs. That’s no longer true, but the variety of species is still quite remarkable. Depending on the season, you can find black ducks, widgeons, mallards, shovelers, red-breasted mergansers, wood ducks, golden eyes, pintails, and old squaws, as well as Canada geese, and tundra swans. Mute swans are also present, but they may be permanent residents.

The Fishing Tour
Kayak fishing is a whole new game. It’s sneaky and intrusive and downright unfair to the crafty bass, pickerel, perch, catfish and other finny denizens that lie in the nooks and crannies of Dundee Creek. No one knows where the lunkers hide out better than our friend Jim, who will be your expert guide. Light tackle is suggested.
Next Tour: Saturday, June 27th 8-10am

Sunset Tours No sunset is the same, but all offer unique, quiet moments to contemplate . . . whatever needs contemplating. Dundee Creek is a perfect place to watch that big old sun disappear behind the tree line.

$55 per participant

Next tour: Friday, June 19th, 7:00-9:30pm
